UAD2pro - Base Device for Debugging

The UAD2pro (Universal Access Device 2pro) is the compact debugger target access device in PLS's Universal Access Device family and complements the UDE® Universal Debug Engine with powerful, flexible and robust communication to all supported 32-bit and 64-bit microcontrollers and embedded processors.

Combined with the proven debug adapter series from the Universal Access Device family, the UAD2pro enables access to the target device via a wide range of debug interfaces and offers state-of-the-art, future-proof debugging and programming capabilities, even for the latest multicore SoCs.

The UAD2pro is equipped with an additional combined CAN and serial interface, providing an alternative communication channel to the target device. This facilitates debug access and programming via functional interfaces, as well as analyzing of CAN communication.

The UDE2pro is optimized for high-speed debug communication between the UDE® running on the host PC and the target system.

  • Target specific debug adapters ensure flexible and reliable target access
  • Download rate up to 3.5 MByte/s
  • Debug communication with up to 50 MHz shift clock
  • I/O voltage 1.65V – 5.5V
  • Build-in ESD protection
  • Galvanically isolated debug adapters (RF coupler technology) with 1,000 VRMS isolation available
  • Minimum power consumption from target
  • Asynchronous serial RS232 interface and CAN interface
  • DAP, MiniDAP, SWD, JTAG, cJTAG, OnCE, H-UDI
  • DAP over CAN Physical Layer (DXCPL)
  • SPD (Single Pin DAP) via CAN
  • ASC
  • CAN
  • USB 2.0 for connecting UAD2pro to the PC with 480 Mbps host communication speed
  • Supported operating systems: Windows® 10 64-bit or Windows®11 64-bit
  • CAN bus D-Sub male connector (CiA pin assignment) as debugging communication channel to selected microcontroller families
  • Continuous trace of CAN bus messages
  • CAN bus analyzing may run as background task of debug communication
