SOTA allows update firmware in normal operation mode of control unit. To do so the new firmware image is programmed to an alternative location in program memory by the firmware that is currently running. On next startup this alternative location is activated for boot process and the new firmware starts running. AURIX 2nd generation supports SOTA by integrated on-chip mechanism.
Please note: Target firmware needs to be adapted to SOTA mode as the available PFLASH is limited in compared to the none-SOTA mode!
