Cross-Debugging of Virtual Prototypes with UDE®

Debuggers such as the UDE® Universal Debug Engine from PLS are increasingly being used for system analysis, testing, and debugging on virtual prototypes. This trend is driven by pre-silicon development and software prototyping (Shift-Left), which enable semiconductor manufacturers and the automotive industry to reduce development time and cost for complex electronic control units.

The presentation provides an overview of testing and debugging with virtual prototypes, discusses the benefits and limitations of this approach, and shows how UDE® can be integrated into an end-to-end toolchain to enable a seamless transition from virtual development to real hardware.
