PLS Programmierbare Logik & Systeme GmbH (hereinafter: "PLS") has created the content of the sites operated by it with the utmost care. PLS assumes no guarantee for the correctness, completeness and up-to-date status of the content provided.
The general statutory liability rulings of the German Telemedia Act ("TMG") apply. We strictly adhere to the following basic principles regarding the protection of your personal data: We collect, process and use your personal data in accordance with the laws and statutes on data protection of the Federal Republic of Germany, particularly the rules of the

Visiting our website
You may visit our website without disclosing any personal information and/or personal data. We will only store anonymous access information, such as the name of your internet service provider, the website that referred you to us or the name of the file you requested. This information is used solely to improve our website and cannot be used for identification purposes.

Use of services
Personal data is only collected if provided by you during your use of the services offered on our website, including but not limited to creating an online user account, submitting inquiries or signing up for our newsletter.
In general, we use personal data to provide you with information about our products and/or services and offers, for example in case you subscribe to our newsletter service (see Section "Newsletter" of this Privacy Policy) or submit an inquiry.

The registration on for the customer’s area requires the provision of several pieces of data. First, you have to choose a

  • user name and
  • a password.

Furthermore, the provision of your name, surname, your company name and your contact details is required. For confirmation purposes, a confirmation email  with a confirmation link is sent to the email address provided upon registration. Only after clicking the confirmation link you will be added to the list of registered customers. In our customer’s area we, inter alia, provide you with additional information about the purchased products (for example manuals etc.) and or with additional support services (for example updates).

The field "Serial number" should contain the serial number of your access device (e.g. UAD2). Only if serial number and a valid maintenance contract are available, the access to the UDE and UDE MemTool update download area is granted. Else, the access is limited to the general information and Starterkit download area.

Promotional and commercial use
Your personal data will be used, processed and transmitted for promotional or commercial purposes – subject to your express consent (such as subscription to our newsletter service) – only in accordance with the applicable laws. You may object to the processing and use of your personal data for promotional and/or commercial purposes at any time by contacting us. Please use the contact information provided in Section "Contact information" of this Privacy Policy to notify us of your objection.

Document retention obligations and deletion of information
Under German law there are several document retention obligations which require that certain types of information are stored for a minimum period of time. Personal data is routinely deleted upon the expiry of these document retention periods. In the event that a piece of data is not covered by these periods/obligations, it is deleted once the original purposes are no longer applicable.

If, for example, you subscribe to our newsletter service, the newsletter will continue to be sent until you unsubscribe from the newsletter service. You may unsubscribe from the newsletter and delete your user account in our customer’s area at any time. Our customer service representatives (see Section "Contact information" of this Privacy Policy for contact information) will be happy to assist you.

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we will collect and process your personal data (including but not limited to your email address) in order to send you news, information about our products and services and other customer information
To sign up for our newsletter, users have go through a so-called “double opt-in” process . The double opt-in registration process consists of two steps:

First step: The user registers for the newsletter on our website (first opt-in).

Second step: The user confirms his or her subscription to the newsletter (second opt-in).

For confirmation purposes, a confirmation email with a confirmation link is sent to the email address provided upon registration. Only after clicking the confirmation link the user will be added to the distribution list for the newsletter. You may unsubscribe from our newsletter service at any time via the unsubscribe link in the received newsletter, an email to or via the account settings in your profile. Of course, you can also use the contact information in Section "Contact information" of this Privacy Policy.

Data privacy

Please note that most data transmission via the internet is unsecured. There is a chance that transmitted information may become known to or might be even falsified by unauthorized parties. To ensure secure communications, we use the standard SSL protocol to encrypt your personal data. To access your online customer account, you have to enter your user name and password. Be sure to keep your login information confidential and close the browser window once you have finished communicating with us, especially if you share your computer with others. We also have technical and organizational measures in place to protect our website and other systems against loss, destruction, access, modification or distribution of your information by unauthorized persons. Whenever you visit our website, for security purposes our web server will temporarily record the domain name as well as the access date, the file requested by the client (file name and URL), the HTTP response code and the website that referred you to us as well as the number of bytes transmitted during the connection.

Right of access to personal data / Right of withdrawal

In accordance with the German Federal Data Protection Act, you have the right to know, to you at no cost, what information we keep about you as well as the right to correct, block the use of or delete this information. If deleting the information violates any legal, contractual or tax-related obligations to store the information or any other legally binding requirements, you will only be able to block the use of the data but not delete it.
