Final release of the Universal Debug Engine 2.4 supports new debug interfaces (DAP) and microcontroller families (Cortex-M3)

Complete DAP support for Infineon’s AUDO FUTURE family of 32-bit automotive microcontrollers is available with the final release of the Universal Debug Engine (UDE) 2.4 and a new special cable to the target system. The Device Access Port (DAP), as new debug interface, enables via two or three lines a significantly higher data transfer rate of up to 80 MHz, compared to the present JTAG interface. With the use of all three channels, a high level of performance and signal integrity is achieved with two differential data lines.

In addition, the UDE2.4 is also available for users of STMicroelectronics’ STM32 family of microcontrollers. The Thumb2 instruction set, the on-chip debug units as well as the programming of the on-chip FLASH - which can be from 32 kilobytes up to 512 kilobytes - is supported.

Together with the Universal Access Device 2 (UAD2) hardware family, the UDE 2.4 now supports a wide range of popular families of 16-bit and 32-bit microcontrollers from Infineon (TriCore, XC2000, XE166), Freescale (MPC55xx, MAC71xx, i.MX31), AMCC (PPC440), STMicroelectronics (ST10, STR7, STR9, STM32), Marvell/Intel (PXA255 and PXA27x) as well as additional ARM7 and ARM9 derivates from NXP, ATMEL, NetSilicon and Texas Instruments.

The final release of the UDE 2.4 is immediately available for customers with a maintenance agreement via the download area.
