UDE COM Object Model

Microsoft® COM technology is the base technology of Universal Debug Engine. This documentation represent itself detailed description of the (UDE) Object Model and a programming manual to use the object inside and outside of UDE. It covers following details:

  • Overview about UDE object model hierarchy
  • Detailed reference of all object model object and their functions
  • Reference of callback function prototypes for UDE events
  • Programming guide for
    • using object model to automated access to debugger functions in external application
    • using object model to generate automatic start script of an UDE debugging session
    • using object model to build own created internal macros to extend UDE functions
    • using object model to access to UDE in own created UDE views based on HTML
    • using internal UDE events in macros
    • using internal UDE events in HTML views
  • Description of standard macro library script functions

Additional Resources for Script Programming

A complete overview about Windows scripting technology is available on Microsoft Windows Scripting Technologies home page. Microsoft® Windows® Script 5.6 is part of actual service packs of  Windows™2000 and Windows™XP (and also part of IE 6.0 SP1 and IE 7.0).

Standard Script Engines Versions installed on this Computer

  • VBScript Engine
  • JScript Engine

The Windows Script 5.6 for Windows XP and Windows 2000  and the Windows Script 5.6 Documentation can be obtained from Microsoft download area.

Web based documents for VBScript and JScript are also available.

Resources for C++ - Programming

An C++ written application can also be used to write UDE remote control  applications. The all UDE  objects support dual interfaces. The necessary header files  can be obtained from actual UDE components.
